Meet the New Summer Bloggers

School is out for the semester, meaning San Diego State University students are packing their bags for summer study abroad programs. We’re delighted to introduce the new Be International study abroad bloggers for summer 2018!

Sofia Bert

Chiang Mai and Bangkok, Thailand

Sofia is a second year journalism/public relations major. She is traveling on the College of Extended Studies program Intercultural Communication in Thailand.


Kristen Burgess

Madagascar

Kristen is a fourth year sustainability major and geography minor. She is volunteering in northwest Madagascar all summer doing forest conservation work through International Volunteer HQ.


Cheyanne Crisostomo

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Cheyanne is a third year public health major. She is volunteering in a special needs healthcare and food outreach program in Vietnam through International Volunteer HQ.


Lorise A. Diamond

Santo Domingo, Domincan Republic

Lorise is a fourth-year communication major, double minoring in sociology and honors interdisciplinary studies. She is on a 16-day adventure with the College of Extended Studies program Global Leadership and Diversity Identities in Santo Domingo.


Andrea Escobar

Quito, Ecuador

Andrea is an international business senior. She is completing a two-month summer marketing internship with an ecotourism company in Ecuador.


Tiana Hodzic

Tbilisi, Georgia

Tiana is heading into her fourth year as a psychology major and women’s studies minor. She is studying abroad at Tbilisi State University through the College of Extended Studies program Issues of Gender and Identity in Georgia. She will stay for the remainder of the summer in Tbilisi to conduct research focusing on internally displaced women at the Tserovani Resettlement camp.


Holly Kim

Dublin, Ireland

Holly is a trilingual fourth-year speech, language and hearing sciences major with an emphasis in American Sign Language and ASL interpretation. She will be studying in Dublin as part of the College of Health and Human Services course HHS 350.


Jennifer Laird

Merida, Mexico

Jennifer is a fifth-year transfer Spanish and speech, language and hearing sciences double major. She is studying at Marista University for the month of July.


Anthony Lince

London, United Kingdom

Anthony is a third year English major with an emphasis in teaching. He is traveling with the College of Extended Studies London Summer Program.


Alexis Miranda

Shanghai, China

Alexis is going into her senior year as a hospitality and tourism management major with an emphasis in meetings and events operations. She is studying at East China Normal University over the summer.


Crystal Monsale

Barcelona, Spain

Crystal is in her senior year as a double major in biology and psychology. She is studying at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) of the Barcelona Science Park of the University of Barcelona.


Marjon Saulon

Xiamen, China

Marjon is an international student from the Philippines and fourth-year comparative international studies major. He will be participating in the two-week College of Extended Studies program Criminal Justice in China. He spent 12 years in Taiwan prior to his arrival at SDSU.


Sarah Shamasha

Hong Kong

Sarah is a third-year biology major and psychology minor. She is studying at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for eight weeks.


Amy Sollenbarger

Tokyo, Japan

Amy is a third year international business major and finance minor. She is participating in a marketing internship in Tokyo.


Briana and Kiana Wiley

Prague, Czech Republic

Briana is a fourth year anthropology major and Kiana is a fourth year psychology major. They are traveling with the College of Extended Studies program Music and Culture in Prague.


Katie Whitmore

Singapore

Katie is going into her fourth year as a mechanical engineering student. She will be doing research at Nanyang Technological University.


Bryce Wong

Madrid, Spain

Bryce is a third-year kinesiology pre-physical therapy major. He is spending two weeks this summer in Madrid teaching English and providing after-school programs through International Volunteer HQ.
