The new school year is almost upon us! For SDSU Be International, that means it’s time to welcome a new group of study abroad bloggers. We’re delighted to introduce the Aztecs Abroad who will be sharing their international experiences this Fall semester!
Raul Arce
Beppu, Japan
“My name is Raul and I am a political science major and Japanese minor. I love learning different languages and using media to tell a story. Hopefully, through my experience abroad in Japan, I can use media to tell my story about learning about Japanese culture as a Japanese language student. I am anxious and at the same time excited for the opportunity to be able to work on this blog during my stay for the 2017 school year APU, which starts in October.”
Erin de Leon
Leeds, United Kingdom
“Join me in my travels abroad as I dive into England’s rich history and culture. I am spending the entire Fall semester at Leeds Beckett University! As a double major in dance and kinesiology, Europe is the best place for me to experience historical dance forms and gain knowledge of international health practices. I truly believe that traveling to become culturally aware is essential to my growth as student and lifelong learner. Be prepared to see lots of beautiful places, exciting adventures and — most importantly — delicious food on my blog.”
Brandon Einstoss
Tübingen, Germany
“I am a senior majoring in applied mathematics and German. I have dreamed of becoming bilingual and studying abroad since I was a child, so I’m so excited to be able to do that for real now by spending an entire academic year in Germany! Be prepared to read about all my adventures traveling around Europe and how I will assimilate into German culture!”
Tiffany Huang
Bilbao, Spain
“My name is Tiffany and I am a senior studying international business. I have always had a sense of wanderlust within me and figured that college was the best time to explore these passions. I love traveling and being able to experience new cultures and traditions. This will be my first time in Europe and I am planning on taking full advantage of the chance to travel. I am so excited for this opportunity and being able to see the places that I have only dreamed about!”
Reut Golan
Sydney, Australia
“I am a junior pursuing a degree in marketing and am super excited to start my semester abroad at the University of Technology, Sydney! Exploring is what I do best so stay tuned for all of my Australian adventures.”
Brittany Jones
Accra, Ghana
“Hey everyone! I’m a senior majoring in interdisciplinary studies in three departments, with an emphasis in social work, psychology and criminal justice. I am extremely excited to embark on this journey to Accra, Ghana, where I’ll be taking academic courses, learning the Twi language, volunteering with locals and visiting neighboring countries. At the same time, I will be exploring my own heritage and re-defining my truth!”
Elizabeth Jones
Haifa, Israel
“My name is Elizabeth and I’m a recent transfer student to San Diego State. I recently accomplished degrees in administration of justice and business. I also received a forensic science certification. I am continuing my studies in the criminal justice and international security and conflict resolution fields. I have traveled extensively in the United States for business and my past government vocation and I am just so excited to have this great opportunity to travel outside of the U.S. during my academic career. This is something I believe all students should have the chance to immerse themselves in and I cannot wait to share my adventures with you!”
Mengen Lyu
Singapore
“Hi, my name is Mengen and I am an accounting junior. I will seek out my next life-altering experience this fall at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. As an international student at SDSU, I had many amazing moments and moments of culture shock as I adjusted to the U.S. Now it is time to start another adventure. My heart is full and I am so excited to share sights, sounds and foods in Singapore. I’m also looking forward to connecting with my fellow students!”
Martin Ahumada Padilla
Singapore
“I am a senior studying mechanical engineering. I am originally from Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico. I am really excited to be living a whole academic year in Singapore and blogging about it! I expect to spend most of my time in school and its activities, but I will also go around Singapore and Southeast Asia on breaks. I will be commenting on school events, as well as the food and general culture of the places I will visit. Keep an eye out for my blogs, I will try to shake things up!”
Eduardo Santiago
Tübingen, Germany
“Hello everybody! I’m a major in German with a minor in international security and conflict resolution (ISCOR). I will be studying in Tübingen for an academic year in order to improve my skills in the language. I hope to be able to give you all insight on Germany and its people; there is a lot more to it than what we learn through the media. My wish is that you all get to learn a little German and possibly undertake such a trip yourselves!”
I look forward to reading about all of your adventures while abroad, Bon Voyage!!!
